Zimbabue se convirtió en el segundo país de África en legalizar la producción y el uso científico del cannabis medicinal, según confirmó la agencia AFP.
El ministro de salud, David Parirenyatwa, dio a conocer un estatuto titulado “Regulaciones para la Producción de Cannabis para uso Medicinal y Científico” por medio del cual las empresas e individuos solicitan licencias para producción medicinal.
El Dr. Zorodzai Maroveke, fundador de ZIHT dijo “Hemos estado cosechando el cáñamo industrial y hasta ahora hemos enviado algunas pruebas a la Universidad de Zimbabue para verificar los componentes químicos”.
“La siguiente fase ahora es llevar las variedades a otras partes del
país y estudiar las variedades en diferentes regiones del país.
“También esperamos plantar y probar semillas autóctonas de lugares como
Binga. Hace poco recibimos un asentimiento del Gobierno para probar las
semillas indígenas ”.
En Zimbabue hay 37 inversores que están aprobados para producir las dos variedades de cannabis. Es decir, con alto y bajo contenido en THC. De
hecho, la compañía británica Eco Equity esta trabajando en un proyecto
de cannabis medicinal con un presupuesto millonario y en el que
construirá un invernadero especializado y de grandes prestaciones.

This African country is already collecting its first legal cannabis crops. The Zimbabwe Industrial Hemp (ZIHT) company planted 5 varieties of European industrial hemp on a 10-hectare plot in the central prison of Harare.
Zimbabwe became the second country in Africa to legalize the production and scientific use of medical cannabis, as confirmed by the AFP agency.
The health minister, David Parirenyatwa, released a statute entitled "Regulations for the Production of Cannabis for Medicinal and Scientific Use" through which companies and individuals apply for licenses for medicinal production.
Dr. Zorodzai Maroveke, founder of ZIHT said "We have been harvesting industrial hemp and so far we have sent some tests to the University of Zimbabwe to verify the chemical components."
“The next phase is now to take the varieties to other parts of the country and study the varieties in different regions of the country. “We also hope to plant and test native seeds from places like Binga. We recently received a nod from the Government to test indigenous seeds. ”
In Zimbabwe there are 37 investors who are approved to produce the two varieties of cannabis. That is, with high and low THC content. In fact, the British company Eco Equity is working on a medical cannabis project with a million dollar budget and in which it will build a specialized and high-performance greenhouse.
