La Fundación Daya, que ya estuvo en boca de todos años atrás por portar la bandera del cannabis medicinal, atraviesa hoy día
otra realidad. Así se lo dijo su presidenta, Ana María Gazmuri, a Chilevisión.

La ex actriz acusa de falta de apoyo del gobierno a Fundación Daya: “Hemos sido víctimas de persecución del Estado”.

En conversación con el programa Sin Pauta, la actriz y activista nacional sostuvo que el Ejecutivo detuvo los avances conseguidos por la organización. Y en la administración anterior.

“Nos hicieron la desconocida, como si estos vínculos no existieran”, aseguró.

"amo actuar, pero la verdad es que he estado tan ocupada en los últimos 8 años dedicada a abrir el camino al uso medicinal del cannabis en Chile. Y que no he tenido tiempo de extrañar”

“De alguna manera los intereses o gustos personales ha pasado a segundo plano y una se ha puesto al servicio de una causa”, confiesa Ana María Gazmuri.

En una nueva temporada de Sin Pauta, la activista y actirz chilena hizo un recorrido de su trayectoria tanto artística como de su actual rol como directora ejecutiva en la fundación Daya.

Ha defendido el uso medicinal del cannabis y ha asumido la responssbilidad de llevar este tema a la agenda pública.

Reconoce que este camino ha sido duro, pero ha valido la pena:
“Probablemente, si hace ocho años atrás (…) quizás hubiera sido menos ingenua en ver que aquí entramos en un ámbito en el que le pellizcamos los callos a muchos poderes fácticos, y la resistencia ha sido proporcional a eso”En la misma línea, señala que junto a la fundación, “hemos generado una comunidad muy inmensa en Chile, nos hemos ganado el cariño y el respeto de esa comunidad”.

“Y a pesar de haber sido perseguidos, criminalizados, hostigados por el Estado chileno, eso es solo nos ha permitido fortalecernos más y hacer aún más profundas nuestras convicciones”.

Ana María expresa su descontento y acusa nulo apoyo recibido por parte del actual gobierno del presidente Sebastián Piñera. Eso puso a fin a los lazos que se habían concretado en la administración de Michelle Bachelet.

“En un principio contamos en cierta fase con la comprensión y el apoyo de las autoridades”.

“Durante el gobierno de Bachelet tuvimos un trabajo permanente, una mesa de trabajo con el Ministerio de Salud”.

“El Minsal patrocinó nuestros seminarios internacionales durante dos años, lo mismo el Colegio Médico cuando el presidente era el Dr. Enrique Paris”.

“Nos reuníamos con el Ministerio del Interior, había un trabajo con el Estado”, recuerda.

“Esto ha sido gravísimo, acrecentado esta situación de vulneración de derechos humanos que es bastante transversal en Chile”.

“Nos pegamos ese salto del Ministerio de Salud patrocinando nuestros seminarios internacionales de cannabis medicinal a un ministro que dice que esta práctica es delincuencial“, concluye.

El primer rol en la televisión de Ana María la marcó para siempre: a sus 21 años encarnó a Fernanda Cabral. La antagonista de la teleserie Bellas y Audaces, Producción que TVN llevó a las pantallas con enorme éxito en el primer semestre de 1988.

Junto con sumar experiencia en teleseries para Canal 13, TVN y Mega, además de algunos trabajos en el cine chileno, a mediados de los ’90 pudo probar en un nuevo segmento; los programas de humor con Tuti Cuanti en Canal 13 y, más tarde, en Teatro en Chilevisión.
Su carrera se interrumpió en 2014 y, años más tarde, dedicó su vida al cannabis.

“Me encantó, fui feliz y lo agradezco, pero no me llama”, dice en relación a la TV. “Más pensaría participar en algo más como de conversación, de contenido, pero no, prefiero el teatro para lo que es jugar a actuar”.

The Daya Foundation, which was already on everyone´s lips years ago for carrying the flag of medical cannabis, is today going through another reality.

This is what its president, Ana María Gazmuri, told Chilevisión.

The former actress accuses the government´s lack of support for Fundación Daya: "We have been victims of persecution from the State."

In conversation with the program Sin Pauta, the actress and national activist said that the Executive stopped the progress made by the organization. And in the previous administration.

"They made us the stranger, as if these links did not exist," he said.

"I love acting, but the truth is that I have been so busy in the last 8 years dedicated to opening the way to the medicinal use of cannabis in Chile. And that I have not had time to wonder"

"In some way, personal interests or tastes have taken a back seat and one has put oneself at the service of a cause", confesses Ana María Gazmuri.

In a new season of Sin Pauta, the Chilean activist and actress took a tour of her artistic career as well as her current role as executive director at the Daya foundation.

He has defended the medicinal use of cannabis and has assumed responsibility for bringing this issue to the public agenda.

Recognize that this road has been hard, but it has been worth it:

"Probably, if eight years ago (...) perhaps I would have been less naive to see that here we enter an area in which we pinch the calluses of many powers that be, and the resistance has been proportional to that”
Along the same lines, he points out that together with the foundation, "we have generated a very immense community in Chile, we have earned the affection and respect of that community."

"And despite having been persecuted, criminalized, harassed by the Chilean State, this has only allowed us to strengthen ourselves more and deepen our convictions."

Ana María expresses her dissatisfaction and accuses null support received from the current government of President Sebastián Piñera.

That ended the ties that had been established in the Michelle Bachelet administration.

"At the beginning, at a certain stage, we had the understanding and support of the authorities."

"During the Bachelet government we had a permanent job, a working table with the Ministry of Health."

"The Minsal sponsored our international seminars for two years, as did the Faculty of Medicine when the president was Dr. Enrique Paris."

"We met with the Ministry of the Interior, there was a job with the State," he recalls.
"This has been very serious, increasing this situation of violation of human rights that is quite transversal in Chile."
"We took that leap from the Ministry of Health by sponsoring our international seminars on medicinal cannabis to a minister who says that this practice is criminal," he concludes

Ana María´s first role on television marked her forever: at 21 she played Fernanda Cabral. The antagonist of the soap opera Bellas y Audaces. Production that TVN brought to the screens with enormous success in the first half of 1988.

Along with adding experience in teleseries for Channel 13, TVN and Mega, in addition to some works in Chilean cinema, in the mid-1990s he was able to try a new segment; comedy shows with Tuti Cuanti on Channel 13 and, later, on Teatro en Chilevisión.

His career was interrupted in 2014 and, years later, he dedicated his life to cannabis.

"I loved it, I was happy and I appreciate it, but he doesn´t call me," he says in relation to TV. "More would think to participate in something more like conversation, content, but no, I prefer the theater for what it is to play acting.”
