En EEUU las cosas de palacio van despacio pero avanzan, 42 estados con diferentes niveles de legalización y Colorado y Washington como pioneros a los que observar como ha evolucionado a lo largo de estos 7 años.
Aparte de la ley que planea eliminar el cannabis del listado de sustancias peligrosas, la senadora Tina Smith ha presentado una propuesta para que el departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos regule los productos cannabicos de la misma manera que se hace con el tabaco.
Con mucho acierto por su parte indica que la política prohibicionista solo ha conseguido saturar el sistema penitenciario y además realizar una vigilancia excesiva de la población negra. Además que si se regula de manera federal se crearía un tejido empresarial que permitiría su control de calidad y seguridad.
Esto viene a colación de que se suponía que el mercado negro desaparecería con la legalización y aunque se ha reducido ostensiblemente sigue teniendo bastante fuerza, no tanto para el consumo de la población del estado si no que sirve a los estados limítrofes, sobre todo los del este.
Al tener una legislación en la que se permite el cultivo en interior por parte de los ciudadanos los traficantes están usando viviendas como invernaderos. Se instalan con extranjeros ilegales y se les mantiene en un estado de semiesclavitud.
Durante 2019 se realizaron 175 actuaciones que supusieron la incautación de mas de 70.000 plantas y unas 3,5 toneladas de flor.
