El potencial de Colombia en la industria del cannabis hace que todos los ojos estén puestos allí. Y donde están las miradas, están también los dólares.

Es por eso, y porque se estima que para 2020 este mercado crecerá un 35 por ciento en el país, que dos cumbres recibirán a la crema y nata de la industria del cannabis.

En medio de la coyuntura que vive el mundo en la actualidad, la industria del cannabis medicinal es una de las menos rezagadas.

Prueba de ello es el crecimiento de cerca de 40 por ciento que ha tenido este sector en ventas en Estados Unidos o el aumento del consumo de cannabis en países como Alemania tras la pandemia.

Colombia sigue siendo uno de los países estratégicos para los inversores, gracias al potencial de desarrollo y los indicadores positivos de esta industria en los últimos meses, publica Agronegocios.

Tras la coyuntura del covid-19 y el crecimiento de la industria, el sector se reinventa y decide fortalecer los proyectos educativos y de inversión a través de dos cumbres 100 por ciento digitales.

De hecho, se estima que para el 2020 este mercado crecerá un 35% alcanzando ventas superiores a los 20 millones de dolares.

Los eventos son reslizados por Musica Capital Group, primera firma latina de gestión de eventos e inversiones en este sector legal del cannabis, donde diversos actores de la industria podrán compartir experiencias enriquecedoras para fortalecer el sector en el contexto actual.

Se trata de Latino Science Forum y Latino Investment Summit 2020, eventos que se desarrollarán los próximos 14 y 16 de julio.

Allí, los que empresarios, inversionistas, científicos, médicos, pacientes, cultivadores, investigadores e interesados en la industria, podrán conocer de la mano de expertos los últimos avances del cannabis medicinal en el mundo.

“Es un campo con muy buena proyección. Tanto, que la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) le otorgan a Colombia el 44 por ciento del cupo total de producción mundial de cannabis para uso medicinal”, indicó Diego Rojas Vahos, jefe de Química Farmacéutica del CES.

“De ese cupo no se ha cubierto nada porque todavía no hay un solo producto colombiano a partir del cultivo de cannabis. No se ha podido distribuir el primero porque falta todo un tema farmacéutico de largo aliento, como obtener el registro sanitario ante el Invima, que se logra tras un estudio de estabilidad que dura mínimo un año y requiere de una caracterización de producto”, agregó.

Para finales de este año, añadió, espera que ya las empresas hayan logrado la creación de sus primeros productos, según publica el periódico El Tiempo.

Con corte al 18 de febrero de este año, el Ministerio de Justicia, a través de la subdirección de Control y Fiscalización de Sustancias Químicas y Estupefacientes, ha expedido 193 licencias para el uso médico y científico del cannabis.

De esa cantidad, 101 son para cultivo de plantas de cannabis no psicoactivo 71 para psicoactivo y 21 para uso de semillas para siembra.

De igual forma, hay otra licencia más, que otorga el Ministerio de Salud, que es para la fabricación de derivados de cannabis ya sea para uso nacional, para investigación científica y/o para exportación.

En Colombia se definió que el uso prioritario del cannabis se da para tres, máximo cuatro situaciones médicas: Dolor crónico, manejo de epilepsia, efectos de estrés postraumático y el cuarto uso, que sigue en estudio y falta validación, es mejorar los tratamientos de quimioterapia, pues disminuiría los efectos adversos como caída del cabello, desligamiento de la piel y vómito.

Desde la industria farmacéutica se cultiva la planta para extraer los compuestos y con esto hacer medicamentos como tabletas, parches, inhaladores y otras formas, pero nunca fumar.

De igual forma, ambos expertos concordaron que la altitud y las temperaturas del país son óptimas para el cultivo de esta planta para uso medicinal, situaciones que se fortalecen por ser un país sin estaciones, lo que permite un cultivo durante todo el año.
