Since the Supreme Court ruling, they have been discussing and drafting the marijuana reform legislation for months to create a commercial cannabis market.
Mexican President Lopez Obrador responds at a press conference:
"We are analyzing that possibility in Congress. It was a resolution of the Supreme Court of Justice that gave us some time to resolve it, we are about to get these proposals to become law “
"We are working very hard on it, I think that progress is being made, a group is already being formed to basically decide what we do with this. We have to review it well, of course, all with the public health approach and taking into account the changes that are presenting themselves “
It was hoped that before the deadline of last October the Mexican cannabis policy would be changed, although it did not happen.
The Supreme Court extended the deadlines to legislators to finalize the ban before April 30, 2020.
Hopefully this time is the good one.
